The average human spends about a third of their lives asleep. Something that occupies such a significant part of our lives has to be important, yet a huge number of us struggle with just getting some shut-eye that can signal sleep disorders and other physical and mental effects of poor sleep. Kate, a sleep expert, joins Aaron on this episode to discuss how sleep (or lack of it) can cause and aggravate mental health problems, why people suffer from fragmented sleep, and some strategies for overcoming these issues. Aaron and Kate also discuss some common beliefs and bad habits people have around sleep, and how to overcome them.

Certified Sleep Physiologist and Sleep Coach, Kate Bridle BSc, RPSGT, CSSC believes everyone deserves a good night’s sleep. Founder of Sleep HQ and an Internationally Board Certified Sleep Physiologist and Sleep Science Coach, Kate trained and worked at the UK’s largest Sleep Disorder Clinic – Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She then went on to lead and develop the award-winning Children’s Sleep Service at the same hospital. More recently she set up and ran the first speciality Sleep Centre in the Middle East. Kate has over 15 years of experience and has been invited as a guest speaker at International conferences and events, including the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
